Exploring the Level 2 Syllabus Poses Part 2 with John Schumacher

Based on your overwhelming feedback, please join us for this exciting opportunity to continue your study with John Schumacher, exploring the Level 2 syllabus poses from RIMYI.   At the last workshop, John explored some of the poses, including some arm balances, backbends, ardha baddha padmottanasana, akarna dhanurasana, variations in sirsasana and more.

In this next part of the workshop, John will address other poses from the Level 2 syllabus, this time focusing on padmasana, some of the deeper backbends like dwi pada viparita dandasana, some standing poses, and the sarvangasana variations.

Like in Part 1, John will teach a 2 hour class focused on these poses, and then will save a half hour for questions and discussion.  This workshop will lead to a deeper understanding of not just the poses, but the connections between them and the key actions that underlie them.

Come explore the Level 2 asanas with one of the world's premiere teachers in this 2 1/2 hour workshop. The workshop will be recorded and the video will be available for 90 days after the event.

This workshop is open to Certified Iyengar Yoga Teachers (CIYTs), those training to become CIYTs, and other students with an advanced practice.

John Schumacher is the founder and director of Unity Woods Yoga Center, based  in the metropolitan Washington D.C. area. John began studying with B.K.S. Iyengar in 1981 and is one of the few teachers in the U.S. to have been awarded an advanced teaching certificate from Mr. Iyengar. John’s clear, precise style and his engaging sense of humor have made him one of America’s leading teachers. He has taught thousands of students, trained hundreds of teachers and continues to give weekly classes and workshops on line. His teaching is directed toward guiding students to explore the many levels of their being with courage and curiosity.
